We believe in the power of the performing arts, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves, learn new skills and make new friendships
We run an inclusive theatre company, the group rehearse every Tuesday at Fratton Community Centre 3.30-5.30
The group learn transferable drama skills including improvisation, comedy, panto, musical theatre, they are able to devise their own shows and we offer training in singing and dancing. Well being Projects and Collaborations
2014
Our previous work with those living with dementia, we have worked since 2014 delivering specialist work into the community connecting with hard to reach audiences , giving those people, living with dementia, experiences and opportunities and a voice.
We have worked with diverse groups and believe that the performing arts can access the imaginations of everyone regardless of age, ability, race and gender.
Previous Funded projects
In 2015, Red Sauce collaborated with Portsmouth University and The Alzheimers Society on the creative Arts project, where Rachel worked as a research engine, as the drama lead, proving the positive effects and well being the arts achieve with those living with dementia and their carers. After a series of musical theatre workshops, which were attended by the three organisations we performed live to a large audience, who were shocked at the standard.
We received £10,000 in 2015 from “Arts Award” for our work with Dementia and the Arts, We received an International Nomination for our work within this area, delivering films, training, drama workshops and creating booklets, we engaged with 10 care homes, 20 community groups and delivered well being sessions for carers at The Kings Theatre in Southsea.
In 2018 Red Sauce Theatre received funding to create a performance piece around the D Day Letters for the D day 75 Celebrations, performing as part of the Volunteer Awards at Portsmouth Football Ground (which included John Jenkins) for Portsmouth Festivities and receiving a standing ovation at Portsmouths New Theatre Royal as well as being asked onboard HMS Boudicca as part of D Day 75 to entertain the WW2 veterans.

The Covid Pandemic
2020 We collaborated with Pamodzi Creatives to deliver well-being to children in Primary Schools in Portsmouth, we create a scheme of work for KS1 and KS2 pupils and was the Drama Lead on the Creative Project which had many artists working on the project.
In 2021 we receive £10,000 by the Lottery Fund for devising a performance piece with our inclusive theatre company around Queen Elizabeths silver Coronation. Collaborating with Global Visions and Film Crew 4 U CiC
In 2020 Red Sauce Theatre received funding from the D Day Story Museum to create a film centered around the musical, we also collaborated with The Army Flying Museum
In 2024 Red Sauce Theatre were commissioned to “recreate Victoria Parks Grand Ceremonial Opening” The Park was taken over by Victorian People with a back story taken from our research, using the people who were actually there.
A puppetry performance piece recreating the opening was performed to the delight of the crowd at Victoria Park
